Hey hey!!
I’m Nat, and I’ll be one of the coaches this year for the Essex Flames! Most of the current Flames probably don’t me as I’ve spent the last 12 months studying over in Australia, and as such I’ll mostly be the one helping in the background! I’m really excited to be a Flame again this year, I can honestly say it’s one of the things I missed the most while I was away!!
I don’t think I can actually put into words just how much I love cheering with the Flames. I’ve made the most fantastic friends (both Flames and Blades, the American Football club we cheer for), and I know it’s made my time at university a much better one. We have amazing socials all year, and the memories I have from our competitions are priceless (I even came home from Australia early so I could be at one!). I know it’s probably been said already, but I really can’t stress how flexible we are as a club, and how NOT stereotypical we are!! Most of the people that join the club have no previous experience, so don’t be intimidated! Give it a go, and you’ll see what I mean. I really do thoroughly recommend it EVERYONE, it’s just the best!

Malika Carey
Hi my name is Malika I joint cheerleading within my first weeks of being at uni. Its so much fun and by far one of the best things I have ever done. When I started I couldn't even do a forward roll and now my skills are developing with the help and support of my fellow cheerleaders. Cheerleading is not just a way of getting fit but a fantastic way to meet people. I feel like I've known all the girls for ages, We're like a little family.GO ESSEX FLAMES

My name is Leila I am a 3rd year psychology and I this is my first year of cheerleading.
When I started at essex I really wanted to give cheerleading ago but like many freshers I joined everything and anything and I couldn't make the paractice sessions fit in. With this being my final year I didn't want to leave uni without giving it a go and it is great fun even though I am the oldest fresher!
